SmartShed

I guess it all started when we moved in to the new house. In the backyard of the house that I rent with my friends we have a shed. It looks something like this, maybe a bit bigger:

Since I didn't have enough room for a working place in a house and I needed a place to use as a machine shop; anyway, I made this shed my office/machine shop. Eventually I started to call it SmartShed, since I it has inside some "smart" modification. But first thing first.

LED cubes

i guess i will start this blog with the project that i spend most of my time on. actually it is not even just one project, it is a set of projects, and all of them are led cubes. some of them were successful, some weren't. some were cool, some were lame, some are done, and some are still waiting in the box to rise and shine when i will have time and wish for it. so:

it's been a long time.

finally, during my winter break i decided that it is time for me to come back to that blog. a lot of things happened since the last post. i transferred from foothill to sjsu, moved from mountain view(i lived there for 3 years) to santa clara, and got myself a shed, which i am trying to turn into a "smart shed" and other stuff. i also got my hands on a few brand new projects, gave up a few old ones and successfully finished a few others, so i potentially have a lot of stuff to write about here. So let's start...

Intro

so, hi everyone.
this will be my tech blog. or i should say that it will be my portfolio. whatever. here i will try to post all (or at least most) of the stuff that i build, draw, sew or code. i hope i will be able to collect here not only projects, that i am working on right now, but also the stuff that i have done in a past, like my first tech project - gauss gun or my very first vector drawings. idk, will see. right now i am spending most of my free time working on 11x11x11 LED cube and i just finished to solder 6th layer. i had extra 20 minutes before the bus, so i decided to start a blog. since i am not taking english class, this is probably the only way i can practice english writing.
...brrr..
what else?
oh, right. since (for those of you who don't know) i am from russia and i hate english classes, my grammar probably sucks, so i apologize for it. if you just can't stand some of my mistakes, please let me know, i will fix it. or i won't. dunno.
also, i hate to use shift button, so there will be only lower case in this blog.
